TCS - Mobile Data Terminal
TCS is a mobile data communication terminal for
any type of vehicle. When used in railroads, it allows
the
exchange of data messages between the Operator who uses a terminal
installed inside the train and the Dispatcher located at the railroad
Operation Control Center. Such messages can include important operating
information, such as train position, license for railroad section
operations, speed restriction requirements and others.
The device allows for the exchange of messages
created by the Operator and by the Onboard Computer OBC (bundled
system also provided by Daiken which can be connected to the TCS).
The TCS also works independently from being connected to the Onboard
Computer.
For more operating reliability and cost reduction,
the terminal works with dual communication system: GPRS mobile phone
and satellite It may also operate with digital or analog radio.
Apart from hardware, Daiken provides also
software that, from the Control Center, manages message sending
and receiving actions between the system of licenses for railroad
operations and the vehicle's terminal (TCS).
The TCS comprises 2 modules:
- TCS User Module: Cabinet with keyboard and display;
- TCS Control Module: Data processing, modems and
data storage memory
